Survival Day

"Survival Day" at Oaklawn Academy gave the students a chance to learn and practice skills used by the pioneers long before modern tools and equipment.  Students had a chance to work together sawing logs, building a miniature log cabin, carrying water and carrying canoes, shooting bows and arrows, building a fire and cooking over the fire.  The students used teamwork, as they built boats from cardboard and then competed to see which team's canoe stayed afloat the longest.
